Energy Efficiency Improvement Project For The Headquarters Of KARENTA S.A.

ICON GROUP and Helesco S.A., building on their long-standing partnership, undertook the comprehensive energy retrofit of KARENTA S.A.’s central facilities in Alimos.

The project encompasses all stages of a rational implementation of such projects. Helesco S.A. is responsible for the initial design (energy audit, initial design of energy efficiency improvement measures, technical-economic analysis of interventions with a specific energy target) and will also be responsible for monitoring proper operation after project completion. ICON GROUP was responsible for project implementation (final design, detailed design, procurement, equipment installation, and commissioning).

The selected interventions concern the building envelope (new thermal break windows), air conditioning (new VRV air conditioning system), lighting (interior and exterior), and rational energy use (energy monitoring and management system).

KARENTA S.A., a leading company in the automotive retail sector that utilizes the most advanced environmental technologies, will now ensure energy-efficient and environmentally friendly operations at its headquarters as well, with a 41% annual reduction in energy consumption and a 247 tCO2 annual reduction in its carbon footprint.

It should be noted that this project follows the guidelines of the new European Directive (EU) 2023/1791 on energy efficiency, making KARENTA S.A. a pioneer in implementing the Directive’s requirements even before our legal framework harmonizes with it.
